El Trastorno del Espectro Autista (TEA) constituye actualmente una prioridad clínica y de salud pública a escala global, dada su elevada prevalencia, la complejidad fenotípica, la frecuente comorbilidad médica y psiquiátrica, y el impacto sobre las familias y los sistemas sociales1,2. Esta condición exige respuestas integradas que articulen diagnósticos oportunos, intervenciones basadas en evidencia y continuidad asistencial a lo largo del curso de la vida. En este contexto, la planificación sanitaria debe orientarse hacia modelos de atención escalonada centrados en metas funcionales y calidad de vida, con participación activa de personas autistas y sus familias en las decisiones clínicas y de política pública.
