Abstract

The main objective of this study is to present the results of the metabolic and bariatric surgery program implemented in a specialty center in the city of Puyo, Ecuador. This is a retrospective study of 80 patients who met international indications to undergo bariatric procedures, the population has an average age of 29.9 years, they are preferably female (52,5%), the most frequent procedure was gastric bypass with 51 procedures. The percentage of total weight loss calculated in the series (%TWL) was 23,7% in the first year. The percentage of excess weight loss (%EWL) was 52,4% in the first year.
