Abstract

Angiomyofibroblastoma is a low-incidence benign tumor of mesenchymal origin, first described in 1992. Its most common location is in the lower female genital tract, especially the vulva, although it can occur in different locations in both men and women. The differential diagnosis is made with several vulvar tumors, among which Aggressive Angiomyxoma can be highlighted, which is especially important to rule out when planning treatment. For this, immunohistochemical studies can be carried out, which, if suggestive of the diagnosis, show positive receptors for Estrogens and Progesterone, for Desmin, α-SMA, Vimentin, Bcl-2 and the absence of receptors for S-100. The definitive treatment is based on the surgical excision of the lesion, which does not require extended borders, unlike when it comes to Aggressive Angiofibroma, which requires an extension of the incision due to its high capacity for local invasion of this tumor.
